| Description | The Beaver Lake Retreat is a group retreat center just west of Aspen, CO, in the secluded town of Marble. It is set in a private alpine inn on the edge of a wilderness at 8000 feet in the Colorado Rockies. In this scenic setting, all sorts of groups meet, generally for 2, 3 or more days. The Ishmael Reading Group, in particular, meets on Friday or Saturday evenings, has 6-10 attending and is a potluck.
The group grew out of a similar group that reads and discusses literature in general. Instead of a regular meeting day, we decide among the members when we are ready for a gathering and when to convene from meeting to meeting. There are two groups in Bellingham, one on the WWU campus and one for Bellingham in general. Both groups are open to each other. We have started a lending library of Quinn's books and some other great books that have highly influenced us and the world.
